Takti (AI)Hi! I'm Takti — taktjam's AI, not a human. I answer questions about taktjam based on our FAQ. For anything individual, reach us at support@clubjam.co.

Getting started

Who is taktjam for?

For self-employed music teachers and small private music schools in Austria, Germany and Switzerland — from your first student to a full schedule. taktjam is aimed at business users (B2B); the product language is German or English.

How much does taktjam cost?

Solo costs 12 € per month or 120 € per year (2 months free). Solo Pro with 50 GB of storage and 10 times the AI quota costs 19 € per month or 190 € per year. Try it free for 30 days, no credit card required. The first 50 founding members pay 9 € per month permanently — the founding price is applied automatically at checkout while seats are available.

How does the 30-day trial work?

You sign up with your email address and use taktjam free for 30 days — no credit card. The trial doesn't turn into a paid subscription automatically: a subscription only starts once you actively book one. When the trial ends, your account switches to read-only mode — all your data stays in place, viewable and exportable; only editing is paused until you pick a plan.

Can I import my existing students?

Yes — students are set up in a few minutes. There's a CSV import, and founding members get personal setup help.

Is there a taktjam app for my phone?

Yes, for iOS and Android as a companion to the web app; you manage your account and subscription on the web. Your students don't need an app: the practice space works right in the browser.

How do I reach support?

Fastest by email at support@clubjam.co — we reply on weekdays (Mon–Fri), usually within 24–48 hours. For common questions, Takti, our AI assistant in the help section, is there for you too.

Lessons & make-up lessons

How does the make-up account work?

Every cancellation is booked automatically according to your own policy, set up once: credit, expiry or a make-up date. Each student gets a complete history — so there are no more debates about how many lessons are still open.

Can I set up my own cancellation policy?

Yes. You decide how many hours before a lesson starts a cancellation still counts as on time, whether late cancellations still get a make-up lesson as a goodwill gesture, and whether — and after how many months — credits expire.

What happens when students cancel?

If they cancel on time (within your notice period), there's a make-up credit and the lesson isn't billed. If they cancel late, the lesson stays billable; depending on your goodwill setting there may still be a credit. Every decision is documented in the history with a reason.

What happens when I cancel as the teacher?

If you cancel yourself, the student always gets a make-up credit, and the lesson isn't billed.

Do make-up lessons expire?

That's up to you: in your policy you decide whether credits expire after a certain number of months or stay valid indefinitely. When redeeming, open credits are used automatically in order of their expiry date.

Invoices & payment

How do I create invoices?

With the monthly invoice run you create your billing at the push of a button: correct, sequential invoice numbers and ready-to-send PDFs. Cancellation invoices are possible too. Invoices from Switzerland are issued in CHF and automatically include a QR-bill (Swiss QR Code).

Does taktjam support the small business exemption and VAT exemptions?

Yes. taktjam knows the appropriate wording for Austria (small business exemption, § 6 Abs 1 Z 27 UStG), Germany (§ 19 UStG or § 4 Nr. 21 UStG) and Switzerland (not subject to VAT under Art. 10 MWSTG, or exempt educational services under Art. 21 MWSTG) and puts it on your invoices. Important: this is no substitute for tax advice — the responsibility for the correctness of your invoices stays with you.

How do I pay for my taktjam subscription?

Billing runs through the payment provider Stripe, monthly or yearly in advance. Your payment details are processed directly by Stripe.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Anytime, effective at the end of the current contract period (month or year) — via the Stripe customer portal or by email to support@clubjam.co. After your contract ends, data export stays available for another 30 days.

Can prices change?

We announce price changes at least four weeks in advance; they only take effect from the next contract period, and if the price goes up you have an extraordinary right of termination. Founding members pay 9 € per month permanently.

Practice space & Takti

What is the practice space for students?

A password-protected, personal area for your students and their parents: lesson notes, homework, recordings, materials and messages to you — no separate app and no account, right in the browser. It's free for your students.

How do my students get access to the practice space?

Every student gets a personal address and a password that you assign as the teacher; the login stays valid for 30 days. Please share access details only with the students or legal guardians they belong to.

What is Takti?

Takti is taktjam's assistant, clearly labeled as AI (powered by Mistral AI, EU). In the practice space, Takti is your students' practice buddy: there it only answers questions about practicing and homework and refers organizational topics to the teacher — you can turn it off anytime in the settings. On the website, in the help section and in the app, Takti also answers general questions about taktjam. Conversations are never stored.

Which files can I share and how much storage do I get?

You can share recordings, sheet music, PDFs and images in the practice space. The Solo plan includes 5 GB of storage, Solo Pro 50 GB; files are delivered via short-lived, signed links. Only upload materials you're allowed to use under copyright law.

Can I upload material independently of a lesson?

Yes. Under “Materials” every teacher has their own library: upload sheet music, backing tracks or exercise sheets once and share them selectively with one or more students — with no link to a lesson at all. Shared files appear in the practice space; recordings from class you still upload directly on the lesson itself.

What AI features do I get as a teacher?

The AI assistant creates drafts for practice plans, lesson notes and progress reports — 50 AI actions per month on the Solo plan, 500 on Solo Pro. The AI runs on Mistral AI in the EU. AI outputs are drafts: you review them before you use them.

Privacy & contract

Where is my data stored?

On EU servers (Frankfurt). Data processing agreement included. Full data export and account deletion possible yourself at any time.

Is taktjam suitable for children's data (GDPR)?

Yes, that's what taktjam is built for: student data stays in the EU, the practice space has neither ads nor tracking, and taktjam offers consent management for photo, audio and video recordings. Obtaining consent (parental consent for minors) is your responsibility as the teacher.

Do I get a data processing agreement (DPA)?

Yes. For your students' data, you are the controller within the meaning of the GDPR; taktjam processes it as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The DPA, including the list of subprocessors, is part of the contract and available at taktjam.app/avv.

What data goes to the AI?

Only what's pedagogically necessary: first name, instrument and excerpts from lesson notes or homework — no contact, payment or health data. Processing runs through Mistral AI in the EU; inputs are not used to train models.

Can I export my data or delete my account?

Yes, both anytime yourself in the settings: full data export (JSON/CSV/PDF) and irreversible account deletion including all student data, appointments, notes and files. Invoice-related data may be subject to statutory retention obligations — that's what the export is there for.

How does the newsletter work?

The newsletter brings tips for your music teaching and product news — at most 1–2 emails per month. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you confirm it via a link in your email. You can unsubscribe anytime via the link in every email.
